Cornerstone Of Hope

By Kandice Jones

Obstacles are apart of our everyday existence as human beings. We encounter health issues, financial crisis, family discord, addiction, trauma, and many other circumstances that can appear unresolvable. Some of these obstacles we encounter can be quite paralyzing and cause us to stop mid-stride. Other times, the possibility of what we may encounter in these situations may cause us to quit before we even start. Regardless of the magnitude, I’d like to remind you that our God is a very present help in the time of trouble (Psalm 46:1, NIV)! As believers, we will FACE trials and tribulations because it comes with the territory.

The exodus of the children of Israel is a great example of how God shows up for his people. When they were at the Red Sea, God parted it in order for them to get to the other side safely. The key to that is they were going forward and were met with something they needed to overcome. God parted the sea while they were facing it. Many times, we want God to eliminate the Red Sea experiences, but they are necessary. It is in those Red Sea moments that we learn to depend on God and gain even more trust in his ability to come through for us. We must FACE these obstacles and call on our Heavenly Father as we move forward!

In Romans 8:35-37 (NIV) Apostle Paul sets the record straight:” Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long: we a considered sheep for the slaughter.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us”
In this season of change, I challenge you to FACE the obstacles standing in your way. Just like Moses, God has put something in your hand to help you conquer what you are FACING!
